Keep On Rollin Classic Car Show

keep-on-rollin“Keep on Rollin” is a Classic Car Show organized to raise money for the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation. The event will be held July 18, 2009 at Brighton Ski Resort. We are expecting to host over 300 classic and custom cars and motorcycles, and more than 3000 spectators. Admission to the event is free, and we will raffle off some really great prizes that have been donated by businesses throughout the community. All of the money raised will be donated to the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, which is dedicated to curing spinal cord injury. Continue Reading »

Soldier learning to live with spinal cord injury

20090707CANDLER —Jo Dean Galloway shakes her head as she considers the cruel irony of her grandson’s situation.

Jake Freeland made it through deployment in Afghanistan as a US Army Scout, jumping out of planes into enemy territory behind enemy lines.

But after his return to Fort Bragg, he lost control of his motorcycle May 29 and sustained a spinal injury that left him paralyzed from the mid-chest down.
