KAUKAUNA — Wisconsin bands will turn up their amplifiers to help the family of a teenager paralyzed in an April 1 crash.

Kaukauna High School students will hold a battle of the bands on Thursday to raise money to benefit fellow student Tiffany Pohl.

Pohl, 18, and friend Kayla Lamers were struck from behind by a driver while walking along Delanglade Street in Kaukauna. Randall L. Ashauer, 52, of Kaukauna, is being prosecuted on criminal charges related to the crash including two counts of causing injury by drunken driving. Pohl is currently undergoing therapy at a Colorado hospital that specializes in spinal cord injury Rehabilitation.

The battle of the bands isn’t the first fundraising attempt by Kaukauna students. An event held earlier this month raised $14,000.

The battle of the bands will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will include between nine and 14 bands. Admission to the concert is $4.
